PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

What you will learn

Generative AI is no longer experimental — it is already embedded in tools every MSME workforce uses daily, often without anyone realising it. The competitive question is no longer whether AI matters, but whether employees have the thinking to use it well. Most do not. They have access without capability, which produces low-quality output, unrealistic expectations, and quiet disillusionment with AI itself.

This two-day applied masterclass closes that gap. Built around the Google Gemini ecosystem (free with any Google account, requiring no procurement or IT involvement), the programme moves participants from passive awareness to active application. It does this through eight tightly-sequenced blocks structured around one real work task that each participant chooses on Day 1 and carries through to Day 2 — ensuring that every concept, every tool exposure, and every prompting framework is tested against work they actually do.

Learning Objectives

Articulate the strengths, failure modes, and trust boundaries of generative AI through the four AI personas — applying the right mental model before opening any tool.

Engineer structured prompts using the 3 pillars of prompting planning and the 10-element T.I.C.E.A.R.S.T.F.L framework to eliminate trial-and-error and mitigate AI hallucinations.

Operate the full Gemini ecosystem — Chat, Gems, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Vids, NotebookLM — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Canva, HeyGen, and Gamma to pick the right tool for the right job.

Deconstruct your daily workflows into AI-ready subtasks and construct a bespoke "AI Playbook" of role-specific prompts that turn personal productivity into a long-term habit.

Block
01

Context Set What AI Can and Cannot Be Trusted With

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to articulate the strengths and failure modes of generative AI using the four AI personas, and apply the right mental model before opening any tool.
Topics Covered
  • What AI is — and what it is not
  • The four AI personas: The Con Artist, The Butler, The Enthusiastic Intern, The Genius Baby
  • Where AI shines, where it fails, and where human judgement remains non-negotiable
  • Building the right mental model before touching any tool
Block
02

Breaking Down a Work Task

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to decompose one real work task into AI-ready subtasks and identify which subtasks are suitable for AI assistance.
Topics Covered
  • Selecting one real work task that matters to the participant's role
  • Decomposing the task into AI-ready subtasks
  • Distinguishing AI-delegable subtasks from those requiring human judgement
  • First hands-on Gemini session — establishing the personal project that runs through Day 2
Block
03

Gemini Ecosystem #1 Chat, Gems, Drive, Forms

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to use Gemini Chat for research and drafting, build a custom Gem for a recurring task, and use Drive and Forms as AI context inputs.
Topics Covered
  • Gemini Chat — research, drafting, Q&A patterns
  • Gemini Gems — building custom AI agents for recurring tasks
  • Google Drive and Project as context tools for smarter AI interaction
  • Google Forms — rapid data collection and survey building
  • Hands-on activities tied to each participant's task from Block 2
Block
04

Gemini Ecosystem #2 Docs and Sheets

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to use Docs for AI-assisted writing and summarisation, and Sheets for AI-assisted data analysis and formula generation.
Topics Covered
  • Google Docs — AI-assisted writing, summarisation, content generation
  • Google Sheets — data analysis, formula generation, dashboard-building, learning-app scaffolding
  • Practical exercises using real workplace scenarios
Block
05

Gemini Ecosystem #3 Slides, Vids, NotebookLM

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to generate brand-aligned slide decks from prompts, edit short-form video content with Vids, and use NotebookLM as a source-grounded knowledge assistant.
Topics Covered
  • Google Slides — prompt-driven deck creation and brand-aligned generation
  • Google Vids — quick video editing, auto-captions, short-form content
  • Google NotebookLM — source-grounded chatbot for document Q&A and reference notes
Block
06

Other AI Tools When to Use Which

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to differentiate between major LLMs and AI tools, and select the right tool for the right job rather than defaulting to one.
Topics Covered
  • Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini compared — when to reach for which LLM
  • Canva AI for visual content
  • HeyGen for AI video presentation
  • Gamma for fast deck generation
  • Building tool-selection judgement
Block
07

Turning Prompts into Impact

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will be able to apply the 3 pillars of prompting planning and write structured prompts using the 10-element T.I.C.E.A.R.S.T.F.L framework.
Topics Covered
  • The 3 pillars of prompting planning
  • The 10-element T.I.C.E.A.R.S.T.F.L prompting framework
  • Structured prompt writing practice using real workplace examples
  • Common prompting failure modes and how to recover
Block
08

Personalising Your Work

Learning Objective
By the end of this block, participants will have applied every concept and tool to their task and will leave with concrete artefacts: a decomposed task, a personal prompt library, and a tool-to-workflow map.
Topics Covered
  • Synthesising Blocks 1–7 against the task
  • Building the final prompt set for the participant's actual role
  • Mapping tools to workflow — what to use, when, and why
  • Commitment to action
